1st,2nd,3rd Position over Up Beat Blues

This is simply a demo of a good way to get better at playing 1st, 2nd and 3rd position. Simply, choose a jam track and go through all 3 positions to improve your ability to play those positions over any groove. Sorry no tabs for ya here…takes too much time…besides, it’s a great challenge for you to go through and try to figure out what I’m playing here. www.Harmonica123.com

    Happy Thursday everyone! Just a jam today..not much of a lesson unless you want to try to pick apart some riffs. This is great practice however..try playing at least 1st,2nd and 3rd position over all of your jam tracks.

    What kinds of harps are those?

  9. Jpthetheory says:

    Wow you gave me a much greater understanding of the differences of positions 1, 2 and 3. Thank you!

  10. RonnieShellist says:

    Just wondering what’s the point in having it unless you play it, unless it’s awful pretty that is. I don’t think you have to worry about blowing out the Deuce. It’s about the toughest harp you’re going to find around. The reeds in a Marine Band are .9 mm and the reeds in the 225 are 2.25 mm. That’s why it’s called the 225 or Deuce and a Quarter. I’ve got a “C” Hohner 2000 limited edition that I play all the time. Still sounds as good as when it was new. Maybe even better.

    hey thanks for letting me know that the deuce and a quarter is a good and strong harp i haven’t talked to too many people who have even heard about that harmonica yet along know about how thick the reed plates are but that’s good to know though thanks i appreciate the advice.. know im gonna start playing it do you own one of these harps if so what key is it in and how do you like the way it sounds and plays.

    @RonnieShellist
    Would it sound that good on a “non custom” harp like the special 20 or marine band?
