How to Play Love Me Do on the Harmonica
by on Friday, April 15th, 2011 | 25 Comments
Number = Blow (ex: 1) Negative Number = Draw (ex: -1) Love Me Do Harp Tab -5 5 -4 3 3 3 -5 -5 -5 5 5 5 -4 3 3 3 That is the basic version without the fancy ending. The fancy ending is up to you as long as you end up blowing on the 3. I do something like: 3 -3 45 -45 3 Yeah… really fancy. Whatever. Just try it out and it makes you feel like an Englishman.

hahahah!
What key is the song…

@bexpress5 While I’d like to say I appreciate your feedback, I don’t. I don’t like you.
@afroharp Your Aura when i saw you, a very sad aura
soo miserable or…. you have colds hehehhe peace
What about the part of the song where they sing (some one to love……) There is a harmonica part there. I have been looking all over youtueb for a person that plays that part so I can see what they are using. I use an A and a C for the change. If there is an easier way Id like to know.
i enjoy your videos.

@afroharp Hilarious
I fail at bending
That’s why mine sounds all dumb
Cheers dude good spirit and good playin always good to have a chrimbo tree in the back thanks!
@S94CIEG01 well, the Beatles are english, so i think he means that you feel like one of them
Excellent tutorial this will be my first melodie as soon as i get that one tone right but you explained it really good i have no idea what bending is but by showing it i can get it no sweet much easier then get the tone alone..
The thing i like is that you show how each tone sounds and very slowly move on to another.
thnx for the tut
Gracias!
im only starting to learn this is my first song thanks for the info on the bending i kept playing the song but it didn’t sound right until i bended
@bexpress5 just teaching myself how to play the harmonica got me through a very rough part of my life…. just sayin
@bexpress5 just teaching myself how to play the harmonica got me through a very rough part of my life…. just sayin, so much soul goes into that little harp via mouth
@bexpress5 i think your life sucks too if you waste your time writing bullshit on youtube
beetlejuice beetlejuice beetlejuice =D you rock man
What kind of harmonica are you using? What key is it in?
You explained the first part real well, but John played this on a chromatic. The easiest way to play ‘someone to love, someone like you’ part of the riff on a diatonic is to switch from a C to a G for that section. You can do it with bends, but the two harp technique will sound more like the original. (Or, of course, you can use a C chromatic. (Pat Missin has a whole page on it where he explains how you can tell it’s a chrom in C.) Good start though.
